The Wait is Over! Book 2 in the Series is in Editing!
You read that right! Book Two, Sovereign, is finished and officially in editing! Soon you will know the fate of Pierce, Blair, and Omega! Exciting huh?

Writing Romantic Suspense/Dark Romance often comes with certain expectations around intimacy. While many authors choose to describe those moments in explicit detail, I’ve always preferred to approach them a little differently. For me, intimacy between two characters like Pierce and Blair should be passionate, loving, and deeply emotional, while still leaving something to the reader’s imagination.
Their relationship is built on far more than physical attraction. They are bound by their commitment to one another, everything they have endured together, the wounds they both carry from their pasts, Pierce’s instinctive need to protect, and Blair’s desire to finally feel safe with someone she trusts completely. What exists between them was never meant to be a fling or a fleeting moment of passion. Their love is rooted in something much deeper, and that emotional connection is what makes their relationship so powerful.
Because of that, I write their intimate scenes with the same emotional focus, primarily through Pierce’s point of view. You'll notice this style of writing is more suitable for his scenes where he is rage-filled as well, and rather than simply witnessing what happens between them, you’re inside his head for it. You experience his thoughts, his vulnerability, his adoration for Blair, his struggles, and the almost overwhelming realization that she has chosen to give him her trust and her heart. And, because this is Pierce we’re talking about, you’ll also get his sarcasm, his humor at his own expense, and those occasional moments of awkwardness he would probably prefer I never told you about.
For Pierce, loving Blair isn’t simply physical. It’s personal. It’s vulnerable. And for a man who has spent most of his life controlling everything around him, allowing another person close enough to see behind the armor may be one of the most intimate things he can give her.
With that in mind, I thought you might enjoy a little taste of one of Pierce and Blair’s more intimate moments in Sovereign: A Pierce Rockwell Novel.
Please note: This small excerpt is from the manuscript currently in editing and has not yet received its final editorial pass. Minor errors or changes may appear in the published version. This is just a little taste test.
Enjoy!
“Blair, are you flirting with me?” I whisper into her ear.
A quiet moan escapes her…then she leans forward, pushing my head back and kissing me again, slow and deliberate, her fingers already working their way down the front of my shirt. One by one, the buttons slip free until the fabric parts, and my bare chest is exposed to the warmth of her touch. Her lips follow soon after. They drift from my mouth to the side of my neck, then lower still, each kiss unhurried and intentional. When she reaches my chest, something inside me ignites, a slow-burning fire that spreads through every nerve in my body.
“No, this isn’t flirting,” she responds in a breathy, sultry, hushed tone.
My chest rises and falls in deep breaths, partly to collect myself and partly to try to regain a few minutes of self-control. Patience, that carefully maintained floodgate I reserve only for her, begins to crack under the pressure building beneath it.
“If it’s not flirting, then what is it?” I ask, a grin tugging at the corner of my mouth.
A single brow arches. “This is me taking what I want, Mr. Rockwell.”
Amused, my eyes drift downward, catching the last delicate barrier between her desires and mine—red lace clinging to her hips like it knows it’s the final line before surrender. Then her hands move with quiet confidence, and she unhooks each side, letting the lace slip free and fall away. A low breath escapes me.
“I like you taking what you want,” I murmur, my voice deeper now, the teasing edge gone. “I’m yours.”
Then she pauses. She stops kissing me. Stops running her hands over me. Just… stops. For a moment, my brain scrambles to figure out what I did or said that was wrong. Her eyes anchor to mine, and the sultry look in them sinks deep into my core when I finally realize what she wants. Permission.
Not because she needs it, but because she wants it. Her gaze searches mine for the signal, the moment where I decide how much control I’m willing to surrender… and how much I intend to keep. She wants permission… to take what I’m offering. To take what she wants. To be the one who has relinquished herself to me completely, and yet, in the same breath, to be taken herself. Permission granted.
